I'll stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming bout.
Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I will break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning massive earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Difference
As both boxers met for the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really proceeding.
